Body oil: Secret to moisturizing and preventing dry skin

Body oils contain many beneficial ingredients for the skin, such as polyphenols, fatty acids. And antioxidants, which help moisturize the skin and even out skin tone. Some of the popular body oils include:

1. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is extract from coconut meat. It consists of fatty acids that help restore the skin, such as Linoleic Acid, which helps retain moisture in the skin. And Lauric Acid, which has antibacterial properties. Using coconut oil on the skin is therefore suitable for those with dry skin. It can be use on the face and body in place of your current moisturizer. 

However, the type of coconut oil that is suitable for applying to the skin should be unrefined coconut oil and pure coconut oil (Virgin Coconut Oil or Extra Virgin Coconut Oil). Because they are more beneficial to the skin than other types of coconut oil. 

However, using coconut oil on the skin may not be suitable for those. With oily skin because it is a heavy oil and may cause clogged skin. In addition, those with sensitive skin should be careful when using coconut oil. Test for allergies before using by applying a small amount of coconut oil to the skin. And start using a small amount first. If irritation or clogging occurs, stop using it.

2. Argan Oil

Argan oil is an oil obtained from the kernels of the argan tree found in Morocco. The flesh is scraped from fresh argan fruits. And the kernels are dried or dried. Then the oil is extracted from the kernels. Argan oil contains many skin nourishing substances. Including saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, minerals, and phenolic compounds, which have antioxidant properties, help  slow down aging, and accelerate the healing process of skin wounds.

3. Grape Seed Oil

Grapeseed oil contains phenolic compounds such as flavonoids,  carotenoids, phenolic acids and high levels of vitamin E, which help moisturize the skin, reduce inflammation and help the skin heal faster from wounds.

Grapeseed oil is a lightweight oil, making it suitable for those with sensitive skin as it has a lower risk of skin irritation than other oils. It can be applied to the skin as a serum or mix with face and body moisturizers for extra hydration at night.

4. Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil or jojoba oil is an oil extracted from plants native to North America. It has properties similar to natural oils on the skin. So it helps balance the skin’s oil production process, reduces excess oil that can cause acne. And may be used to treat certain skin diseases such as psoriasis , sunburn  , dry and cracked skin, as well as nourish hair and scalp.

There are many ways to use jojoba oil. Those with oily skin can apply jojoba oil to their face as a moisturizer in the morning and at night. Those with sensitive skin can use jojoba oil on their body as a moisturizer. 5. Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil is a skin oil that is known for its moisturizing and brightening properties. Extracted from the fruit and seeds of the rosehip tree, rosehip oil contains linoleic and linolenic acids that are great for moisturizing the skin, thus helping to prevent dry, flaky, and itchy skin.
