Flick is one of the options as Barcelona search for a new coach after Xavi Hernandez stepped down this summer. But there is little doubt the 58-year-old is the right man for Azulgrana. Due to a lack of experience working abroad, having worked as an assistant coach at Salzburg in 2006 before moving to work with the German national team, Joachim Löw, until coming to Bayern. ‘Regardless of the style, Barca has the football and style of play that every coach knows. I’ve never had a German coach before. I have Dutch, Italian and Brazilian coaches,’ Deco said. ‘Nationality is not important. It is important that they know football from other countries and have trained elsewhere.
